LAW’s Nuclear World’s Thoughts Today . . .

As my latest novel progresses, slowly but surely, I would like to let my readers in on “Why I am writing a futuristic novel about the last operating commercial nuclear power plant in California.”

The actual reason boils down to the fact that PG&E has a disastrous record on non-nuclear power plants along with other power and electrical disasters in general and now they are operating a “nuclear” power plant that could cause more lethal mistakes than the ones they’ve already caused in California that several million folks who live downwind of “El Diablo Canyon”, and who have no idea of their problematic dramatic history that has, among other disasters, burned down the town of Paradise, California, and blown up a residential area of San Bruno.

The utility company has experienced 7 bankruptcies over its years of mayhem and destruction and are the bad guys in a horrendous, but great March, 2000, movie that some of you may have seen titled “Erin Brockovich” with Julia Roberts, that was just the beginning of their disastrous environmental damages.

I have to keep asking myself now that the company has an extended operational future and financial gifts or “loans” from both governments of California — $1.4 Billion — and the U.S. — $1.1 Billion — giving me pause to ask, “What disaster comes next?” ~llaw
