Why advances in conventional weapons tech should worry China, Russia and US

Washington, Beijing and Moscow must realise that rapid expansion of precision non-nuclear strike capabilities does not deter war, but instead invites miscalculation

Opinion | Why advances in conventional weapons tech should worry China, Russia and US

South China Morning Post

Such risks and consequences are disastrously underestimated. Nuclear powers have long sought the ability to fight and win a nuclear war.

LLAW’s Nuclear World’s Thoughts Today . . .

A timely article from the “South China Morning Post“ that has prompted me to further support my claim that “nuclear deterrence” is not the answer to avoiding nuclear war even given the “light” of advances in non-nuclear weapons, which to my mind are certainly no more than preliminaries to inviting all-out nuclear war. . .

The issue presented in the article is well thought out and provides a bit of an additional deterrence style threat spinoff from my own reasoning, but certainly doesn’t contradict my views. To me, these new systems are little more than a justifiable excuse to turn conventional war into nuclear war. And, if more than a paper tiger, why has Trump ordered nuclear weapons testing for the 1st time in 30+ years.|

So I have added a link to the article in the “image” section above that provides the short but thoughtfully written article that describes why such advances in military hardware are perhaps just as dangerous, if not moreso, than the normal “deterrence” concept. . . ~llaw
