“End Nuclear Insanity Before Nuclear Insanity Ends Humanity”
Dec 12, 2025
LAW’s Nuclear World News’ Image and/or Story for Today . . .
From The New Yorker:

In September, 2022, Rafael Mariano Grossi, an elegant Argentinean diplomat with tousled salt-and-pepper hair, led a convoy of nuclear experts toward the sprawling Zaporizhzhia power plant, in southeast Ukraine, which had been seized by Russia in the early days of its invasion. It is the largest nuclear facility in Europe and the first ever to be on the front line of a war.

LLAW’s Thoughts & Concerns about Today’s Nuclear World and beyond . . .
This article, an amazing mixture of amazing accomplishment under a war-time and biographical story of Rafael Mariano Grossi, and his United Nation’s (UN) IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) diplomatic, courageous, and the incredibly brilliant leader is long overdue of the telling and who else but the New Yorker could tell the story entertainable as well as accurate as it remarkably sees both sides of a great man who supports nuclear energy and fears its future at the same time.
The man and his organization are likely solely responsible for the saving of Ukraine’s war-ridden Zaporizhzhia by Russia since 2022, which has been attacked by Russia in multiple war-like ways over a dozen times, yet it still survives in a war situation that no doubt should have been considered impossible, but Grossi has accomplished the improbable. ~llaw
I will add that today is Friday’s edition of “LLAW’s NUCLEAR WORLD NEWS TODAY”, which includes the IAEA Weekly Roundup of News.
