“End Nuclear Insanity Before Nuclear Insanity Ends Humanity” ~llaw
Jul 11, 2025
What’s On My Mind Today:
It constantly haunts me that so few of us understands — or even seriously care about or concern themselves with the overall life-threatening uses of all things nuclear — not just relative to threats of nuclear war, but also to the expanding idea and misguided rush to expand and use nuclear power to solve our ever-increasing need for electricity as well as to “solve” the greenhouse gas problem relevant to global warming and climate change. Nuclear energy will not resolve the climate change issue. But it for sure will present us with incredible and expansive future problems that are most likely far beyond our ability to control.
The very last decision to re-awaken the nuclear industry and use nuclear power to solve our energy problem is utter nonsense, but even if you disagree with that view, using nuclear power is undisputedly infinitely more immediately dangerous to humanity and other life than CO2 and other greenhouse gas elements. Nuclear waste, for instance, puts the current and future crisis of global warming to shame, but we seem not to care even though simple science and other critical considerations clearly tell us the differences. And, then, too, there are other serious problems with nuclear energy proliferation so numerous that they border on potential extinction of most all life on the planet, even if a nuclear WWIII war is not involved at all.
And now, today, there is an article that our incompetent U.S. President wants to forge ahead, advancing “at warp speed” because, according to this article from “The Hill”, Our energy future requires a nuclear warp speed (Click on the link to read the story.)
The following lead-line line from the article tells us all that needs to be said at the moment:
Trump’s strategy for energy dominance includes promoting nuclear energy, ending green energy subsidies, and increasing energy production.
I will read the article more carefully this evening or over the weekend along with you . . .
So, in that light, I have decided to begin, starting on Monday, writing a daily weekday article with an opposing rebuttal and sharp criticism of this approach toward alleviating the global energy problem that we have long faced, but have continued from the past to do nothing about, for the better part of a century other than make political and industry false promises to the public to give us hope for a livable future. Promises not kept are not promises, and I will add that, in my opinion, Trump has no more of an idea what needs to be done than he does concerning anything else he lies about . . . ~llaw
