US supercomputer trains AI on 53 million nuclear docs for faster plant approvals
On My Mind Today:
There are a couple of articles in “TODAY’S ALL NUCLEAR WORLD’S NEWS” that terrify me nearly as much as nuclear war. My mind cannot get around how we humans, who believe we are at the top of the intelligence chain could so much as consider them to become a part of our intellectual and geographical industrial energy system: Artificial Intelligence (AI) managing nuclear power, and the construction of operating nuclear power plants in highly populated areas.
There is an axiom in the nature of life that holds true in every conceivable action of human life that goes something like this: That which is potentially dangerous to life of all kinds, becomes mathematically more dangerous by multiplying the danger, and that is precisely what the concepts of humans relying on AI’s ability to keep us safe in dangerous situations and building more nuclear power plants — especially in congested cities and sensitive environmental areas. Yet that is the scenario we seem to be headed for in the not-far-distant future . . .
I can say this about both of these ridiculous ideas becoming reality: AI will never have the ability to realize that it has made an internal operations mistake and manage to correct it on its own ingenuity and concern before a nuclear disaster occurs. And next-door-neighbor nuclear power plants are like spreading a plague or other highly common extremely poisonous toxic substance to crowded conditions in confined places.
Will we never learn? ~llaw
The two articles are both available, as mentioned above, in the Nuclear Power section of TODAY’S ALL NUCLEAR WORLD’S NEWS. For convenience, I’ve added the links here:
