“End Nuclear Insanity Before Nuclear Insanity Ends Humanity”

LLAW’s Nuclear World News’ Image and/or Lead Story for Today . . .

from Lloyd Albert Williams/Pendergraft

This is one of my favorite images of PG&E’s nuclear power plant in Diablo Canyon near Avila Beach about 10 miles southwest of San Luis Obispo., the last commercial power plant operating in California. It looks so serene, peaceful, and efficient. Bu it is nothing of the kind . . . ~llaw

You can pick whatever you are interested in from the “Nuclear World News Today” section down below, but today I am not reading any of it. Instead I will be re-reading, editing and re-writing the prologue and a few early chapters of “El Nuclear Diablo”, a novel I hope to finish by this time in 2028, and also hope the world and its life still remains active and intact, and available to read on into the unknown future of life on planet Earth . . .

LLAW’s Thoughts, Concerns, and Fears about Today’s Nuclear World and beyond . . .

Happy New Year 2026 to you all! I hope in my heart and soul that there will someday come a day when “All Things Nuclear” are gone forever rather than humanity and other life on planet Earth. Could it ever happen this way?

Yes, it could, but it will take a long and concerted effort by the coming together of common folk around the world in order to accomplish the most difficult task we collectively have ever faced, and yet, paradoxically, every day we are making a successful future more difficult because we fail to fully understand the death knoll future that “All Things Nuclear” that faces the entire population of humanity, meaning one day soon we may unintentionally destroy ourselves through nuclear war and/or nuclear power.

As some of you know, I am in the process of writing a fictional story — a novel, draft titled “El Nuclear Diablo” that is based on a possible future reality — that I hope will be published and available to the world by this day in 2028 rather than a wasted effort because the fears of foreseeable destruction and death in the meantime. The story, at least for now, ultimately has a somewhat perverse but happy ending, unlike what may well happen to us all in the reality of our meantime. The story tells us why and how our armageddon of a nuclear ending didn’t need to happen at all . . .

Part of the posting in this daily blog will be dedicated to gradually explaining to the existing world, if interested, how the vision(s) I have in the novel are faced up to and that the hardship , terror, persevering, fighting back, coming together in a communal way, eventually offering those of us the opportunity to save our world and its thousands of shades of life may live to see another well- deserved day . . . ~llaw
